The Wife's perspective!

HAS YOUR EX OR YOUR PARTNER’S EX EVER TRIED RUINING YOUR RELATIONSHIP  PURELY OUT OF SPITE?

I have been with my husband (Daveyone), for well over 5 years now and yet my husband’s ex-partner, (non marital), has continually ‘spited’ our lives, due to the indirect power she has been given from Family Law Courts with regard to having full control over their children, no matter what legal jurisdiction in the past has been granted to my husband. She, at the end of the day has the last word as to whether they see their Father or not and this situation I understand is quite common and worldwide.

Research shows that Fathers within this situation suffer from depression and indeed some even resort to suicide.
Although my heart goes out to all these Fathers and obviously in particular to my husband who ache to see their children, of whom they care and love for so deeply… Is it also understood?... I wonder?... that their respective partners, like myself who are placed within this situation and continually support our husbands, indeed also bear the weight of their suffering on a daily basis and indeed live the nightmare also!... of which we don’t deserve as much as our husbands don’t either!

I have supported my husband no end through the pain and depression he has felt in not having contact with his children and this type of situation as a whole can deeply affect relationships that experience these circumstances.

Personally, even at times I have found it extremely frustrating in withholding and having to control my comments and actions to his ex, in fear of the consequences of what she could brew for future confrontations when contact with the children used to take place…. have you any similar experiences…?

I would be interested to know whether any other wives and partners living parallel circumstances to myself have experienced similar occurrences which have affected your relationships i.e. bringing you to boiling point, unable to make long-term plans, (yet alone short-term ones), wondering how to plan Christmas, Holidays, etc. etc… the list just goes on and on… (Don’t you just crave for the chance to get on with your own lives?!?)

I’d love to hear your views and maybe if you too have had further experiences within the injust way of which Family Law presently operates, and you may agree that a turn around within this system might benefit us all!

  2. a great article. i can feel everyones pain in this matter. but in my eyes it is not down to the mother to determine what they do,they should be making there own choices in the matter and not being brain washed..... the children will regret this decision later in life.

In the year we saw the last of the World War One ‘Tommy’s’ complete his journey on this earth and many World War Two warriors now considering how many more memorials they will attend especially in foreign lands, we appreciate what their lives and those who did not return stand for in giving us freedom of speech and a quality of life many of us take for granted and my thoughts of my late father a peace loving man facing the horror of war from the rear gunning turret of a Lancaster Bomber.
