Since our formation in 2005 we have been responsible for many headline grabbing media stunts, we are made up of former coordinators and the top activists from the F4j movement mark I (circa 2002-2005), the reasons we broke away are covered in this BBC documentary from 2006 Davey says; Radio 4 Law in Action is researching for a programme on Family Law and in paricular CAFCASS and social services share your experiences here; www.lucy.proctor@bbc.co.uk
It is about time the BBC did a robust report on our cause!!
Real Fathers offer free professional help and support to anyone facing injustice in family law, we are an open and accountable civil rights campaign group, not a trademarked Limited company, and we welcome new members and supporters to get actively involved.
With notable campaigners being conspicuous by their absence until March 2010, an alliance of family law reformers, including Rffj coordinators, have been meeting with Conservative MPs Henry Bellingham, Michael Gove and their respective teams for around 3 years to discuss much needed changes in family law should they take office.
Meanwhile in Northern Ireland, key members have been conducting talks with politicians and stakeholder groups responsible for policy change (full report to follow)
We will wait and see if the changes promised to us come into effect, but we must keep the pressure on and tell our MPs that family law is not working.
Rffj say there is no monopoly or copyright on family law protests, to achieve our goals we must all network together respectfully and peacefully, despite any differences.
Rffj will concentrate efforts on continuing the campaign to change family law, we are here to stay, not a revolving door group that disappoints members by reopening and closing down every time the going gets tough, Rffj won’t make legal threats to sue and attempt to destroy the work of those who are campaigning for the same.
Campaigners must put aside their egos and work as one to ensure the much needed reforms are implemented; support any group you like but we must take a united message to the politicians that the best parent is BOTH parents.
With the spirit of cooperation in mind, we ask members and supporters to attend a protest being organised by New fathers for justice, Saturday, 24 July 2010 Carry on camping >Click here< for more details
