Or so the song goes, but what if it were your Son, Father, Uncle or Brother?
A year before I got drawn into the Family Law 'fly trap' I saw on the news a couple of guys climbing on cranes near Tower Bridge in London dressed as superheros one of who fired off fireworks! 

My immediate reaction, and I would guess most other people's, was are these 'fathers' truely demonstrating they were responsable parents to children they claimed to love and despertate to be with?

One year later I had some empathy for their actions for I too had witnessed the injustice of the secrative hell of family law court, which unlike criminal court come under no scrutiney from the press or public and appears to work autonimous to the acccepted norms of law, and worse they regulate themselves. In fact the actual decisions are being made by incompitent court reporters from Tony Blairs 10 year old brain child CAFCASS and regardless if they are fact or fiction they are always rubber stamped by the judge and then all these so called professionals clan together covering each others backs. Then when they discover they have put the wrong child into care or seperated loving parents from their children there is no course of redress check out my Geldof on Fathers You Tube along side here for some idea of what people go through and it has not moved on 6 years after that programme was produced!

The trouble is a whole industry has been created on the back of this ,and at a time when waring couples should be encouraged to reconcile their differnces for the sake of the children the first sign of annimosity is like fuel to the flames when the 'Fee earners' become involved!

Charging in the region of £200 per hour for a solicitor and £1500 per court appearence what possible incentive is there to find a solution to family strife especially when Dad is prepared to spend anything for the benefit of his beloved child whilst the mother is 'entitled' to endless legal aid which none of these so called professionals have any quarms about plundering for as long as possible!

They are therefore delighted to employ the sevices of the afore mentioned social workers to complicate matters as they are not actually trained in best practice of how to deal with family court proceedure but muddle through so long as what they do covers their backs and there is no come back on them!

Remember these are the same incompitents that were responsable for Baby P Victoria Climbe and in the case of little Khyra Ishaq her natural father alerted Birminghan Social Services of his concerns but they took no notice , and in my opinion just because he was a man!! So Birmingham, Cornwall, Doncaster and of course Haringay have made it into the headlines with major failings but it is not limited to just these, it is all social services in all councils and Ed Balls still resists reform!

When you learn one little girl " Jenny" once living on the south coast with her parents is now in care and crying out to be reunited with her parents every day and all because a neighbour reported a dog barking in the family run kennels and as the RSPCA suspected cruelty to the dog,a claim not upheld, their 7 year old was taken into care just in case, and her parents have no course of action to get her back she will remain in foster care till she is of an age to make her own choices which could be another 10 years!

Ironically for me having been granted a £70,000 contact order, the court could not enforce I too have to wait till my children are of an age to make their minds up when they see their dad again ( if they are not brainwashed too much) as they are subjected to parental alienation by the mother!

all this comes with the mantra;

" In the childs best interest, as this is paramount!"

I have another irony to this sorded business whilst I have not seen my children fo 26 month now the very same social services often mail shot me to become a foster parent , you could not make it up, and is it not just enough to make you consider donning a superhero cape and shouting it from the roof tops? Or as Simon Anderton will warn you worse!!             (Not a problem confined to the UK either!)
