"Seems to me like the Grandparents,the bastions of commonsense and stability, could be the route of sorting this appalling law!" Comment by Davey
Millions of grandparents will be given sweeping new legal rights if the Tories win the next election. The law will be changed to ensure they do not lose contact with their grandchildren after a family separation, divorce or bereavement.
They will also be put at the front of the queue if their grandchildren face being fostered or taken into care. The changes were revealed by Shadow Cabinet minister David Willetts, who speaks for the party on the family. He said it was a SCANDAL that there was currently “little or no” recognition of the vital role grandparent’s play in society.
Research suggests they are increasingly relied upon by their children for help with childcare and finances, and by teenage grandchildren for advice and support they may not get at home.

The heartbreak is doubled for Grandparents, you feel for your
own child as well as your Grandchildren! DaveyGrandparents currently have no rights to keep in contact with grandchildren after a parental split.
Almost half face the heartbreak of being cut off completely after a parental split.
THOSE WHOSE SONS ARE INVOLVED IN A SPLIT FARE THE WORST.
The children's names have been changed;
Tell that to the thousands of grandparents who are cast aside every year when asking after their grandchildren's health. The grandparents who have been derived of so much "Dignity" as grandparents they have almost given up hope." You're wasting your time" says George Lewis of Govan. Jimmy Deuchars >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

A statement from a broken old man who had his grandson removed from him when his son died, because he was told he was to old to look after him.
Martin Narey, Chief Executive at Barnardo's made a statement in which he called for more children to be taken into care as babies from "families who can't be fixed" in order to prevent them from being harmed.
Narey, who is a former director general of the Prison Service, made the comments in a response to last week's court case involving two young brothers from Doncaster who viciously attacked an 11-year-old boy and his nine-year-old nephew. Read more in the Guardian.
This is understood from a charities prospective, but would anyone really advocate such a proposal that renders children at the mercy of Social Services especially if there are Grandparents or extended family availiable to care for the children whilst parents resolve their problems this has to offer a better and stable upbringing and continuity in a young life!
I am a grandparent and agree that children can alienated by one parent, it breaks my heart for my son and the two grandchildren I have not seen for two years,when are the judgements given out in the Family Law Courts going to be enforced by the Law and not the Mother.
