Family Justice Review:deadline 23rd June 2011: Summery!

Dear Mr. Norgrove,
I wonder if just a few months is enough to fully consider all the facts relating to this enormous subject,I feel it is such a mammoth task more time may be required and I offer you all my research gleaned over the past 7 years and 3 years of publishing my findings from first hand experiences as well as other people's testimonies.
http://world4justice.wordpress.com/

The misgivings I have uncovered in the family law system not only here in the UK but across the world has ramifications most especially on our young, their families and society as a whole and I hope the endeavours of your review will see it as a matter of urgency that these injustices are addressed and not some cost cutting expediency for this coalition Government. ( I apologise for my cynicism but years at the wrong end of family law will do that to a man!) Many of my contemporaries consider this could just be a fudge or whitewash but after completing the very detailed questionnaires last September feel this review should be given a chance and I was gratified for the final question which read 'what question should we have asked if you feel something has been missed?' to which I replied that I hoped you will consider the number of suicides that take place each year ( In Australia where records are kept 16,000 people have taken their lives through Family Court failure and CSA intimidation since November 2007 ) I would suggest in the UK and Canada the totals are probably double that in the USA it runs into 100,000's where the correlation between returning service personnel who then have to face broken relationships at home is just to much for one man to bear!!

Legal Professionals: There is great incentive for Solicitors and indeed Barristers rather then seek conciliation to cause still further agitation in sensitive matters as they can then make the most of the legal aid budget or rendering a parent, most often the father, bankrupt, all under the watchful scrutiny, of the Judge but of course all behind the secret family court. There is now a call for these judges to be scrutinised and courts to be opened up using the same safeguards as in criminal courts (Child A etc). I know you commended the work of theses so called professionals in your early considerations, but please look again as there is a darker side to this industry then I believe you are aware.
Grandparents: Once again I was dismayed by your early findings which much maline Grandparents. The role of the Grandparents is vital and I believe holds the key to fundamental reform of our failing Family Court system. Why is there such widespread Social Services or CAFCASS intervention in hitherto normal families? Surely if parents are experiencing difficulties the priority in the child's true best interest (not necessary the same as the court mantra wheeled out time and again.) is to keep the children within family care and Grandparents or extended family seems a more prudent and beneficial way to offer children stability then to rely on spurious snap shot reports from strangers which weak judges rely upon for their judgements.Grandparents should be equally responsible as parents in such cases and the law should reflect this.

Police: The Police have no real role in Family law proceedings and will admit as much , they are unable to enforce a court order on a mother who withholds her children in spite of dad standing there with his court orders waving over his head Chamberlain style ( and as much worth as the letter the war time leader was holding then) The Police unable to act will caution such a father that he could be arrested for breaching the peace and should return matters to court, but what for if the court order he has is not worth the paper it is written on?

CAFCASS: In my view should be disbanded as they have become lackeys or scapegoats for judges who can point to their reports when things go wrong, as they all too often do. Rather then rely on Social Services at all the courts should have access to previous family history records from a family doctor, so false allegations that emerge at these sensitive times can swiftly be quashed!

CSA : Should also in my opinion be disbanded as not only has it failed for over 20 years the tactics they employ are little more the draconian which I have likened to Gestapo and KGB as there is no accountability for their Sex discrimination Race discrimination or their breaches of human rights. Financial matters should be settled at court as part of the summing up process and in conjunction with contact and PR agreements.

I hope the Family Justice Review has recognised Parental Alienation which most often happens when the so called resident parents stops the so called absent parent (new name required here) is stopped from enjoying contact with his children ( More often Fathers but on occasion Mothers ) it should be outlawed as the psychological child abuse it is when a parent uses their own children as ransom to attain more money from a father or the system as she will show she is sole parent in spite of court orders to the contrary. Once again something the CSA will accept without the need to purse all the facts!

False allegations of abuse or violence should be dealt with as robustly as the genuine cases they undermine, and again Family GP records should be admissible to court or at least to the judge when it is clear there were no incidents before one parent wants to earn more kudos in this arena.

The solution I have arrived at for sometime and by coincidence a fellow campaigner did in Canada is to make legal aid available to both parties at the outset and one court appearance to be included in that cost. This will then focus minds on both parents doing the right thing for their children including contact arrangements and financial matters there after if a party wishes to return matters to court it has to be at their own expense and only refundable if proven that the alternative parent has not acted appropriately and stiff penalties for either parent who fails to adhere to the letter and spirit of the court order. This should mean no requirement for CAFCASS, SS or CSA intervention as long as the orders until the children reach secondary school age (12) can be enforced.

Family Courts should be opened to press and public scrutiney with the same safeguards in place for sensitive criminal cases but it is the Judges who we need to scrutinised. Once and for all recognise the biased and bigotry that exists in this industry and there should be law that makes both parents equal and responsible for their children in to adult hood. Mothers do not always know best and childhood is such a short span of time, lets get it right in their true best interest!
I rest my case!

Family Justice Review : Deadline 23rd June 2011:Grandparents4Justice!

I was touched this week by 2 articles in the June edition of Mature Times; Grandparents new heartache and Have we lost our Grandson forever? (Click blog title for more on this) I would implore David Norgrove as Chair of the Family Justice Review to rethink his interim view on the grandparents role in the family and on society as a whole. These bastions of commonsense and stability could be the answer to the whole Family Law issue in the UK and beyond, where feasible would it not be better for a grandparernt to care for their own children’s kids as opposed to social services in times of crisis? Even as the cynic in me believes the whole review is purely a cost cutting exercise rather then a true pursuit of justice, so here is a cheaper and morally better alternative!
Parental Alienation is also a force that undermines families and is not simply restricted to children and their dad but extended famly including grandparents and uncles & Aunties, and where the authorities are concerned all too often favor the parent who holds the children whilst ignoring the family stopped from having contact or access.
Presenter Gloria Hunniford has campaigned on this issues and Radio personality James Whale watched his own son be alienated from his granddaughter at the time he himself was diagnosed with cancer and to which he dedicated a whole chapter of his book ( Chapter 11 I believe)

Obama to visit Queen.

President Obama and The First Lady will make a state visit to
London by invitation of Her Majesty the Queen from 24th to 26th
May 2011.

(Click on blog title)
http://world4justice.wordpress.com/page/8/

So once again I suggest (as I have in previous blogs) we use a pincer movement to write simultaneously to both President Obama at the Whitehouse and Her majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace so as to inform them of OUR misgivings of Family Court , Social Services (CPS) and just how they are unjustly dealing with families and most especially children.

Let the State visit highlight the true State of the Union and all our so called Justice systems
WORLDWIDE!

What happens to dads (and Grandparents) after a split?

Recent research shows that when a marriage ends, most fathers are left without the family home or primary care of the children. Men who feel they were mistreated by the system tell their stories to KATE HOLMQUIST

EVERY NIGHT before he goes to sleep, Joe, a separated father, looks at a picture of his children on his computer screen and tells them he loves them.

When Tom’s marriage broke up, he slept in his car near the family home because he wanted to be close by in case something happened to the children.

Cathal weeps when he speaks of how he came home from hospital after being stabbed by his wife to find his house emptied of “everything” – including his children. His wife had left a solicitor’s letter on the counter accusing him of being mentally ill and telling him she wanted a divorce.

All three men have struggled for years in the courts to gain access to their children and believe that they should have been made primary carers, in their children’s best interests. They tell of being so alienated from their children by their ex-wives, they’ve had to watch their children’s first holy communions and confirmations from the back of the church. They speak of telling social workers about their ex-wives’ abusive behaviour and of not being believed.

“I was really, really depressed before the separation, sleeping in the back sitting room. You weren’t walking on eggshells, you were walking on razor blades,” says Cathal, who showed The Irish Times an extensive psychiatrist’s report that declares him under stress due to the separation, but well mentally otherwise.

“I know men who killed themselves because they lost contact with their children,” says Declan Keaveney, a retired garda who spent €50,000 fighting through the courts to be made primary carer of his two children and even contemplated suicide himself. He eventually succeeded in becoming primary carer.“Men have no voice – we have nothing,” he says.

Keaveney, who is now is a volunteer with Amen, a support group for male victims of domestic abuse. He listens on a daily basis to men driven to the edge by rancorous separation wars in which children are often used as ammunition. “Parental alienation syndrome”, where one parent turns the children against another, is common, he says.

A report by One Family, an advocacy group for one-parent families, finds some fathers who, despite contact orders, are refused contact with their children by their wives and cannot get the HSE to intervene and enforce their rights.

Court delays also mean fathers can go months without seeing their children. One father says he “just gave up because it was too stressful . . . [my ex-wife] was on legal aid and I had a private solicitor which cost a lot of money and I just gave up”.

There is “no deliberate bias” against men in the family law courts, believes Anne Egan, a researcher who sat in on 158 in camera cases (where cases are heard in private) for her PhD, though the court “reinforces stereotypical views” that children need to be with their mother as primary carer – the result in 88 per cent of cases.

Another PhD researcher, Róisín O’Shea, found only 2.23 per cent of 493 cases had the children living with their father. While many fathers asked for 50/50 living arrangements, O’Shea saw this ordered by the court in just two cases.

Egan, who also interviewed fathers, says most accepted the mother as primary carer, but “they would have liked more contact rather than specific times and dates”. These fathers missed the daily informal involvement with their children over breakfast, the school run or even just a few minutes in the evening to hear about a child’s day.

The second major complaint was being left out of decision-making. “Most were not happy with the situation but it was working for them,” she says.

If a father wants to be primary carer, “it’s not always fair. There’s a battle royale if you are acting for a father,” says Marion Campbell, a private family law solicitor who has been dealing with separation cases since 1981, when she started her career in the legal aid board.

Due to the recession, a growing number of men have become stay-at-home fathers whose wives work full-time. It’s often the wife who wants to separate, yet if the father wants to remain in the home as primary carer, he needs maintenance paid by the wife and her agreement to leave the family home, which is practically unheard of (O’Shea’s study found not one case of fathers receiving maintenance).

Jobless and rejected men may have no choice but to move home to their parents’ house, Campbell says. Would a stay-at-home mother be asked to leave her house with no maintenance and limited access to her children because her husband wanted a separation? The question just doesn’t arise, Campbell points out.

Another unfair perception is that men are not physically assaulted by their wives, she adds. “I’ve come across a lot of cases, but women are much stronger and more proactive in issuing proceedings. Men bury their heads and come in at the last minute and quite a number are upset because they don’t want the separation,” says Campbell.

ONE FATHER WHO WAS physically abused says he never told anyone because “it’s embarrassing”. When parents fight in court over property and children, lawyers’ briefcases heave with psychiatrists’ and social workers’ reports, although hearings can be so brief that judges don’t always see everything.

Keaveney says the men he hears from often feel social workers have sided with their wives and barely listen to them, and that the wives’ allegations are always believed.

Joe says he experienced years of false accusations by his ex-wife before he finally received a verbal apology from a social worker who said he’d been right about his wife’s fragile mental state all along. For example, his wife went to gardaí accusing Joe of exposing their son to pornography during an access visit. Gardaí investigated and The Irish Times has seen a copy of a letter from An Garda Síochana telling Joe they found no basis for the allegations. For Joe, this was just one episode in a long campaign by his ex-wife to “destroy” him, even though she had left him for another man.

“Because she’s a woman she can say what she likes, do what she likes and is getting away with it. Because I’ve moved on, the only way she can get to me is through the kids. I know guys who have not seen their kids in five to 10 years.

“One father I know, hadn’t seen his son for eight years. Then he got a call through a solicitor to say his son had attempted suicide. Can you imagine how he feels?”

Tom weeps when he speaks of living “in limbo”. After years of court battles costing in the region of €50,000, he has good access to his children but still worries about their safety. At the height of the conflict, he would drive by a place where he knew his children would be, just to see them from a distance. “I’m trying to move on, but last week, I broke down leaving the kids back to their mother. I was leaving them to somebody I don’t trust.” Sleepless nights have become routine, but he keeps going, trying to rebuild his life and his business, “for my kids”.

We grandparents suffer too as our sons despair over their loss!

I pray my husband and I will live to see our son reunited with his child

Letter to the Observer following this news item http://www.realfathersforjustice.org/news/index.php?itemid=421
The Observer, Sunday 3 October 2010

Our son has been going through agony in the last 10 years and the knock-on effect has devastated our entire family. We grandparents never got to see our only granddaughter at birth. Why, after paying thousands in solicitor's fees and eventually getting a contact order, are things not enforced?

Two weeks after the order he arrived at his former home to find the mother had moved away. More fees to hire a private detective. She was found and eventually had to comply with contact.

Over the next four-and-half years, contact was 14 hours a month. Our son was never allowed to take his daughter on holiday and had her to stay only one weekend in his house.

All contact has been refused since 2006. He receives no school reports and has had one photograph. Parcels, gifts, cards and letters are sent regularly to her from Dad and family and maintenance has always been paid.

Changes must be made to support fathers who desperately want to see their children. Mediation is now the only option.

I put on a brave face most of the time and I pray that my husband and I will live to see our son reunited with his only child. Somebody out there help these fathers, please.

My parents separated in 2001, when I was eight and my sister five ("How a new age of fathers' rights is taking hold", In Focus). Both my parents wanted us to retain a strong relationship with each of them and so it was decided between them that they would "share us". We spent every Monday and Tuesday nights and alternate weekends with our dad and the rest with our mum. After eight years, my sister and I felt we were constantly in limbo; we felt as though we had no real home.

With the support of our mum, we spoke to Dad and told him we wanted the situation to change. Although he was upset he could see this was affecting us and he valued our happiness. Although we now tend just to see him alternate weekends I feel that our relationship is now stronger as we value our time together more.

I am greatful to Toon of RFFJ for both of these items : James Whale suffered the sadness of seeing his own son going through Parental Alienation at the time he was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. James devoted a chapter of his book to this time and if you click on the origional blog title above you can read more on James's battle and remisson from Cancer. Davey

We grandparents suffer too as our sons despair over their loss! (James Whale)

You said: "Only about 11% of children from broken homes go on to spend equal amounts of time with each parent", without speaking to any children in this situation. After eight years of living this "ideal" scenario, it became complicated and impractical. The happiness our parents were trying to create turned to unhappiness.

Last week, I received a telephone call from a policewoman threatening me with arrest. My crime? Sending three cards to my grandson telling him I love him. He had his third birthday last week and as my son's former partner will not allow me to see him I put birthday wishes in our local newspaper. My son is fighting through the family courts to regain the access he had with his son until March this year but he still is not seeing his little boy.

My son's ex-partner saw my cards as harassment. Don't you think the police have more important things to do than threaten a 67-year-old grandmother?

I'm single and not a parent, but I noticed that none of the concerned fathers you quoted made any reference to their children's feelings.

That the men you interviewed seemed incapable of putting their children's feelings above their own is illustrative of a bias in the home of the very children those men purport to wish to protect.

"Home" needs to become a space that is healthily shared by women and men, not a battleground.

Alongside the gains of feminism in making the space "out in the world" a much more healthily distributed one between men and women, there needs to be a similar recalibration of power and perception in the shared space of home. This has to be in the interests of us all.

Coronation Street and Family Law !

As someone who has watched Coronation Street since the early 60's I can say overall their story lines are the most credible and today cover aspects of Family Law , possibly a little more subtly then I might like, but the only soap to do so!

You may wonder would a mother who is a convicted murderer be able to pursue a claim for custordy for her child even though the child is being cared for by the childs father and new wife? There are cases in the real world where drug dealing mothers are indeed given care of their children when a perfecly good father is on hand to take on the role and responsability! Are Social Services really qualified to judge who is a suitable parent even to foster or adopt when so often it is the same department that is seperating children from their loving Dads (mostly) but less often their mothers, and I have the ironic situation of having my own children withheld by the mother but the local council often send me mailshots on adopting or fostering??
Grandparents have no legal course of redress if they lose contact with their grandchildren, except in extenuating circumstances or money and very rare, just ask Radio Presenter James Whale who devoted a whole chapter to his book and the pain he went through when his son was alienated from his child and as a double whammy at a time James was diagnosed with Cancer!

T.V presenter Gloria Hunniford also campaigns for more involvement of grandparents when parents are having problems as opposed to the involvement of Social Services and something I endorce fully. Perhaps it is the parents that need to be taken to one side , into care if you like rather then the kids , whilst they learn the basics of parental responsability!

Fathers are being seperated
from their children on every Street in the land and around the world, it is called;

Parental Alienation Syndrome!

This can be inflicted by an vengeful mother, but is condoned by the Family Law system, and supported by the erronious mother's extended family who in the eyes of the law are 'civil' whilst the law cannot deal with a caring fathers so seek to 'criminalise' them!

Society could not give a 4X for the father but for the sake of the children and society as a whole there has to be the recognition the reform is long overdue and has to be reformed NOW! Davey

Grandparents could hold the key to Family Law reform in the UK!

I received a bulletin this week from the journal Mature Times; http://www.maturetimes.co.uk/node/9854 and read with interest. I then past it on to my associate and 'Grandparents Apart' campaigner the pragmatic Jimmy Deuchars who's robust response was in keeping with this gentleman's stance on this subject much of which I have had to contain within my Grandparents 4 Justice forum and I would welcome other peoples views on Jimmy's findings.
For some time I have believed Jimmy's campaign holds the key to any break through on the Family Law crisis undermining societies here in Britain and sadly across the world . the USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand are facing similar difficulties and have counterparts to Jimmy's organisations too. I can only hope and pray those who should be remedying this failure might just listen to these 'bastions of commonsense and stability' if they listen to anyone!
Renowned presenter Gloria Hunniford has been doing the rounds on many popular TV and Radio shows on this subject, and I wish Joanna Lumley would step up to the plate on this as she did for the Gurkha's as this really is the solution to not only the injustices in family court but the continuing failures in social services that threaten our societies more then any terror attack!

Davey appeals to Joanna Lumley 4 HELP!

Gurkhas Champion :
Could you now win Justice4Children, please?

(Davey makes an impassioned Facebook appeal to this well respected actress/activist!)

Lord Chancellor and Justice Minister the Rt. Hon. Jack Straw M.P. has made one attempt at reform of Family Law since taking over the role from Lord Falconer (who did nothing) 2 years ago, and that was to propose an 'Open Court' policy in April 2009. Sadly this was thwarted at the first hurdle, the judges, which is strange as cases could have been identified as Child A Child B or Family XYZ or even instruct the press to use case number only in sensitive cases. More over it is the judges that should be scrutinised by Public and press without compromising child welfare!

Sir Bob Geldof was awarded a knighthood for his extraordinary work for the starving in Africa, I believe he is also deserving of merit for alerting many to the failures of Family Law in his excellent 'Geldof on Fathers' programme. 6 years on, and following his comment in the Daily Mail just before Christmas, he must feel dismay that the only progress in that time was Jack Straw's whoop and grunt attempt to open the courts!

Lord Justice Ward complained in The Times 1st May 2008 that "Vengeful mothers leave good fathers powerless to see their children!" He made a similar observation in the Bristol Evening Post on the 18th December 2009. Who does Lord justice Ward think is going to put this right should it not be him and other law makers such as Lord Justices Wall and Woolf!

Gloria Hunniford and Jimmy Deuchars have been fighting the corner for Grandparents for sometime now not only for rights of access but as guardians instead of children being forced into irrevocable care, when extended family may offer stability and continuity whilst parents sort out their issues, why should kids go into care when it the adults failure that should be dealt with? 'Grandparents these bastions of commonsense and stability!' I believe this is the key to the overall reform of Family Law and child Welfare in this country.

John Hemming (Lib-Dem) M.P. for Yardley, Birmingham has in my opinion the most knowledge on this subject in Parliament, and presides over the constituency said to have the worst Social Services in the country (I believe no county is imune from this failure). His colleague Lynne Featherstone (Lib-Dem) M.P. for Haringay has also taken an interest in the worst social service department in London, I believe if these 2 excellent backbenchers took over the roles of Ed Balls and his wife Yvette Cooper at the DWP we would see rapid reform long overdue after the recent high profile and tragic cases!

Camilla Cavendish won the Paul Foot award for her campaign for Family Law reform in The Times and is the most authoritative journalist on the subject and one of the first to attend the so called open court (Ipswich) last April. ( Click on blog title) This subject needs more media recognition and brought higher up the political agenda and NOW!

Kind regards

Saturday World (F4J) Review!

With the prospect of the forth coming protest at Canterbury Cathedral I have considered the role of Fathers 4 Justice and how effective their protests have been and what of the future?

I have made it clear that before I became embroiled in the family Law fiasco I thought the prospect of some guy dressed as a superhero firing fireworks off a crane near Tower Bridge gave off the wrong message and was this a responsible Dad to be demonstrating in such a way?
Sadly this is how the general public perceive such action as most have not endured the closed shop, secret and unaccountable family law court system where very often the father has little, if any, course of redress for major errors that take place every day. All eyes are on The New Supreme Court of appeal to see if they will offer justice where hitherto they have ignored an appeal by a father.
Better still there has to be a total reform of this destructive system which causes such heartache, has caused so many children to go into care and in addition to braking our societies could have such a bearing on cases such as Baby 'P', Khyra Ishaq and Victoria Climbe!

I offer a solution to all this in my Sunday blog see what you think!

In South Africa the government has called upon F4J to advise them on human rights issues I wonder what they have realized that it is sure to take the UK, US and Canadian Governments some years to understand! I am interested in the comment in 'your Canterbury' (left) by
Mark Henricks from Austin, Texas, USA "I am happy to see Fathers 4 Justice taking this direct protest action and wish them every success. United States fathers infrequently engage in public protests, preferring to work through other media, legal and legislative channels. However, the stakes are high enough that any means that helps propel positive change in this area is important and worth trying!". All the best from America, Mark Henricks

This is a stance that seems to be followed in Australia with Michael Knight and his crew at the forefront of many tricky court cases and standing up for rights many assume to be equal between men and women as it is in every other aspect of civilized society, well almost!
To see what the Canadian Contingent have to put up with click on title above and from what I can tell the law is at it's worse here, and the F4J protest is one of an impromptu flash demonstration. I believe a coordinated campaign where action is taken at the same time in London Washington Canberra Johannesburg and Ottawa along the same lines as the Movember campaign of a few weeks ago!

You Had Emily Pankhurst and her Suffragette movement at the turn of the last century, the hippies anti war and freedom movement in the sixties.........
......... could F4J be the social activists of modern times?
Count down to Sunday 29th November 2009,The Solution!

Fathers4Christmas to 'visit' Canterbury Cathedral !

A Father is for life not just Christmas,
birthdays+holidays+ treats+ Disneyland+pocket-money+ X-BOX +mobile phones+loss of dignity+ bankruptcy+ irregular access+ worthlessness+ desperation+ defined contact+ ill health+ loss+ alienation+ false promises+ hopelessness+fear+sleepless nights+ anticipated regret+ulcers+breakdown+suicide and generally having the piss taken out of us by this heartless and erroneous
Family Law Court System!

"A Father has a lifetime of worry and heartache for his children, but his love is so easily discarded like last years fashion. There is nothing in this for Dad except to see his child put a mortar board on their head, in the hope that child will do better in life then he!" Davey

A Fathers for Justice group will be demonstrating at Canterbury Cathedral as part of their campaign to change family law.

New Fathers for Justice are urging all dads who will not be able
to see their children this Christmas to join them at 10am on
Saturday, December 12th 2009 to support their campaign.
The group will be dressed in Santa costumes to put pressure on
the church to help them “put the father back into Christmas”.

A spokesman for the group said: “New Fathers for Justice will
yet again attempt to get our message across to the church which, like this arrogant Labour government, had ignored the plight of fathers since they have been in office.

“We are urging the church to support us in our fight to change family law and plug dads back into families in time for Christmas.
(See my 'Lost Faith blog in archive.)

“We see this as a great necessity as we are now potentially only six months away from the general election. We hope that the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams will help us with the plight of dads in Britain this Christmas.”

The group has urged dads to come along with banners and wearing Father Christmas outfits.

Campaigners from father’s rights groups have made a name for themselves using direct action campaigning methods to fight for better rights for fathers who want to see their children. (As ever click on title for more on this)
If their message had been listened to in
the past 5 or 10 years maybe
BABY PETER
Victoria Climbe and Khyra Ishaq
would still be alive today,Davey

Saturday World Review!

I am delighted to introduce AMFORTAS as feature contributor this week. I am grateful to him for words of encouragement, support and philosaphy that has put me in good stead when compiling information on this theme and producing it for others to follow I am also proud to say I have now joined Amfortas on the board at Dadsonair in Oz so we can chat their too, great stuff from the wise man of family law, I look forward to his future contributions!
The most draconian anti-male legislation in Oz is the 'Safe at Home Act' in Tasmania

(States make many of their own Laws)

It includes aspects that sometimes appear on AM from other places, like mandatory arrest - of men;
no bail;
holding 'accused' until they sign an undertaking not to be violent again, before they are allowed to go before a magistrate - therefore admiting guilt. They are not to be taken before a magistrate until they sign ! This means they can be in jail for months without a trial and can only plead guilty;
arrest on the say so of a Policeman without a complaint being made by a spouse;
inclusion of non-spouses, such as flatmates or lodgers. Men - landlords - have been taken from their homes and the home left with a non-paying tenant!

It was introduced into Parliament here by a feminazi Attorney General, drunkard, who had a grudge against her ex-husband.
Amfortas.
Whilst I agree you have to keep these little Islanders in check, this reminded me of my CAFCASS reporter who's ex-husband was part of the Families need Fathers campaign so some hope of impartiality (See my forst blog the late Ian Mackay was spokesman for FNF and my Mckenzie friend and alerted me to who my reporter was!) Davey
Also in Australia a news item found by Davey;
There is a man in the County Court of Victoria Australia facing rape and abuse charges by two vengeful, scorned and power and money hungry sisters.
It\'s the ultimate revenge after decades of false allegations and being shown up in the Family Court of Australia to be liars.
Civil rights activists have fought and demonstrated for 20+ years against injustice, Family Court, Police, legal system and it\'s abusers.
HE HAS NOW BEEN TARGETED BY THE SYSTEM.
The lack of due process and fairness he has received thus far by the legal system can only be interpreted as PAYBACK!!!!
This man is being prevented from putting evidence to the court by the judge, in addition to repetitive breaches of his civil and constitutional rights.
It\'s a serious WARNING and lesson for all us men that there is little justice, if any, in these courts.
GOD BLESS HIS SOUL and PRAY the real truth is revealed and he does not lose his FREEDOM and LIFE!!
He currently has a loving, gorgeous and caring partner and daughter.
We also pray this mess is over soon and they can be reunited as a proper family, and allowed some peace as God intended.
Please post your comments of support for this man and his family -
We will keep you posted...
My thanks go to frostyboy for this item from Canada Davey
Concordia professor tells men to 'man up'

Concordia University professor Anthony Synnott is concerned
about a human rights issue that’s often scrutinized, but not
often discussed: what about men’s rights?
Synnott spoke at the University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton
campus on October 8 to discuss his new book, “Re-Thinking
Men: Heroes, Villains and Victims.” He sat in the hot seat as he
discussed his theories on masculinity and equality for men. He
believes that in the quest for women’s rights, men’s rights have
been either forgotten or ignored.
He claimed that during and since the feminist movement, society has portrayed men as inferior and a social problem.
“Prejudice against ethnic groups is called ‘racism;’ prejudice against women, ‘sexism;’ and prejudice against men is considered really, really funny,” he said.
Continuing to draw attention to society’s apparent prejudice against men, Synnott admitted that men do commit more homicides and crime than women, but men are also killed more than women in homicides.
Why are men killing men, then, and why aren’t we doing something to stop it? Because men are seen as naturally more aggressive and dangerous, he suggested.
Hate literature discusses how men are ‘in fact’ the inferior and more violent sex, proving their point by using the examples of male villains throughout history such as Hitler, Stalin and Hussein. Synnott reminded the audience of some of history’s male heroes, including Gandhi, Churchill, and Mandela – and also touted the reality that the majority of men are not killers and rapists.
Synnott is not only concerned with the negative portrayal of men in society but also the lack of support men receive. He said that while it is true that male-dominated jobs have higher wages and are unionized more than female-dominated jobs, jobs that men are more likely to have have recently suffered more cuts.
He said that there is not nearly the same amount of organizations or support groups out there for men as there are for women, which has led to men making up the majority of the homeless population.
And there are other statistics we are choosing to ignore, he said. There are more females enrolled in post-secondary education than males. He said men usually work in more high risk environments and are more prone to health issues, yet there is a higher percentage of men who do not have healthcare.
Less money, Synnott said, is put into the research of male-specific diseases and there are fewer academic studies done about male problem areas.
Although he talked about heavy subject matter in a roomful of people ready to jump down his throat, Synnott cracked jokes and kept much of his audience smiling. After being interrupted a few times by inquiries about his sources, followed by some debates, questions were taken, putting Synnott’s viewpoint under the microscope.

He said that he often faces hostile and defensive audiences, and that it surprises him how closed-minded people can be toward his unique perspective.
Synnott asked men to “man up,” a term he learned from a female student – though he did not share her definition, which requested that men “Get beer, not white wine. Don’t get the baguette, get the steak. Stop whining, and just do it . . . oh, and hit on us more.”
Instead, he requested that men start organizing and fighting for their rights as women have done – because as everyone learns at some point or other, ignoring problems does not make them go away, and they only come back later to bite you even harder.
“So gentlemen, man up. There are things to do here.”

As I did a mid week special on the US I have just a couple of points to make here. I have offered a supplimentry US item in my International section for an on going case(s) of injustice and I have put a useful New York times item above if you click on the word Saturday! More from the US next Time, Davey.
